Here are things I do every day in service of studying Japanese:
- I do Anki review on the Kaishi 1.5k deck with 10 new cards a day
- I watch an episode of the Refold Teach Yourself a Language course1 (this is will be over soon)
- I do at least 15 minutes of intensive immersion, and then at least an hour of free-flow/interactive immersion, usually sampling between
- Listening to language-learning podcasts on my phone (e.g. Japanese with Shun,2 Miku Real Japanese3)
- Watching language-learning YouTube videos that have subtitles (e.g. Daily Japanese with Naoko,4 The Bite size Japanese Podcast5)
- Watching native YouTube videos that may-or-may-not have subtitles
- Watching anime on Netflix or Animelon6
- Reading graded readers from Sakura7
- Slowly trudging through a visual novel (e.g. Leyline8)
Here are things I don't do but would consider in the future
- I have a copy of the new beginner Tobira9 I want to go through as while they're not usually recommended in the Refold/CI community, I do like me a traditional textbook and do want slightly more targeted grammar study, as well as a lot of reading comprehension practice.
- I have set up Mokuro10 and want to start reading manga, but it's a little annoying how Mokuro + Yomitan are clearly intended for desktop computer usage while I traditionally prefer reading (English) manga on my mobile devices
- I'll start sentence mining once I finish around a thousand cards of Kaishi (currently at ~450, half of which were suspended due to prior exposure)
